shac Consultant Kym Beggs is a public relations professional with significant experience across a range of communications services including media relations, strategy, issues management, marketing communications and events.

 

Kym is media savvy. Her media relations skills are utilised to gain positive publicity for clients across Queensland. She can effectively craft stories and pitch angles that are newsworthy, and position the client directly to the target audience.

 

At shac, Kym plays a key role in executing media, public relations and event management campaigns for several clients across a variety of industry sectors.

Kym plays an integral part in liaising with the media for the Federal Government initiative, National Science Week.

 

Prior to joining shac, Kym worked as a consultant at a leading New Zealand corporate communications consultancy working across the private, public and non-profit sectors. During this time she completed a full-time secondment at The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation and was responsible for managing all communications and marketing activities for the national Breast Cancer Awareness Month awareness and fundraising campaign.

 

Kym has also provided freelance communications and marketing support to a number of small organisations in Australia and New Zealand, and has worked as both a public relations assistant and management communication tutor at The University of Waikato.

Kym holds a Bachelor of Communication Studies (honours) from The University of Waikato.
